The dominant style of the early residences was Greek Revival. During the late 1850’s through 1870’s, a house type that was popular in the community was the 2-story, 3-bay front gable house, a form derived from earlier Greek Revival temples.
The later architectural styles were Gothic Revival, Second Empire, Italianate, Queen Anne and a variety of vernacular interpretations of these styles.
